Pollok House is closed. It shut on 20 November 2023 for a £4 million refurbishment led by Glasgow City Council, originally billed as about two years, and the National Trust for Scotland has not confirmed a reopening date - it remained closed as of July 2026. Pollok Country Park around it stays open.
Several reviewers note the house was closed for refurbishment at the time of their visit, and say the setting is still worth the trip as part of a wider day in Pollok Park. The architecture, gardens, river frontage and views are widely praised, along with plenty of seating around the house, and the nearby highland cattle are a favourite for more than one visitor. Reviewers point out that the gardens and grounds can be enjoyed free of charge and that a ticket is only needed to go inside, with the basement cafe also described as free to visit and its food and staff well reviewed. One reviewer, while rating the house highly overall, was less impressed by peeling paint inside, a second floor now given over to what they found an uninteresting gallery, and a servants' floor they felt was thinly presented. Parking is described as paid and a short walk away.
